The Big Move

Well, it is official. Jim and I are getting moved to another area of the building. I always kind of knew it would be inevitable. The area where we sit is pretty full and they are always hiring new team members. It is easier to move a team of 2 than a team of 8 accountants or 5 communication team members.
So, they are moving us away from this amazing picture window overlooking the courtyard and the fountain. They are moving us further back into the building in an area where they lock up all the engineers. Those engineers are a crazy bunch of folks, but boy are they sure quiet! Even though I’ll miss the sunshine from the window, I think I’m really going to love the quiet atmosphere.

Ok, so here’s the kicker. And, you must all think I’m a man hater by the way I complain about this. Truly, I don’t have issues with men – honestly!!! Well, I’ll be in a room with about 50 team members spread out in various pods. I’ll probably be one of 5 women in that entire area. Thankfully, a couple of them are engineers, so I get to be around women who have broken that glass ceiling in this industry.

The best thing ever about my move? The women’s restroom will never have a line!!
