Wisdom Wisdom. What was the wisest decision you made this year, and how did it play out? (Author: Susannah Conway)
I believe that wise decisions come out a lot of thought and a little bit of trust in myself. I'm not always the best at putting a lot of thought into some of my biggest decision, but I always put a lot of trust in myself. Unfortunately, this little mix hasn't always helped me be successful at making wise decisions. So, I believe my wisest decision this past year has been to spend more time in thought when it comes to moving forward with a plan.
Turning 40 this year reminded me again that I am an adult. I know, that sounds kind of funny, but this birthday really made me feel more mature. No, I don't mean more mature in the physical sense, but in the sense of self. As a single mom, I've been forced to trust my gut when it comes to decision making. For some reason, turning 40 made me feel like I truly have the maturity now to make good decisions. I've paid my dues and now my experience and knowledge will help me in the next stage of my life.
I know it is hard for many who really know me to understand how I could feel that my decision making before this year was less full of thought and more of my intuition. After all, I'm the queen of list making! Shouldn't I have created comprehensive pros and cons lists when it comes to making a decision? Nope - not the case.
So, I feel that my wisest decision this year came about after my 40th birthday in July. I decided to use my brain more and my emotions less when it comes to making major decisions in my life.
