Week in Review

This week was particularly hard for some reason. Not sure if I can pinpoint exactly what made it so, but it seemed to take a lot of work just to get through the day. I think the combination of crazy things going on at work with the struggles we are going through at home just collided. But, the good news is that it is Sunday night and I'm through! Tomorrow is a new day. But, in hopes of me learning from life, I decided to document my week through words.

1. Work has been really crazy lately, but it seems like this week I ended up spending an inordinate amount of time working on some very time consuming things. For example, I spend 3 entire days working on one spreadsheet to just prepare it for some modeling work we are doing to determine how many new bales we are going to contract with for the next year. For those of you who don't know about the project I am working on, check out this website: http://www.projectliberty.com/.

2. Discover Together Class - I teach a weekly class to a group of adults with disabilities. This week, we continued with our book club for part of our time together. We also started a lesson on better understanding how important it is to be aware of what is going on around us. This morphed into a discussion about bullying. I am always amazed by the experiences that some of these wonderful individuals have had in their lives. There were some sharing of bullying that made me very sad and angry. This seemed to carry through the rest of the week. It can be hard to have patience with some people's ignorance of basic human kindness.

3. Weather - We had a couple of warmer days, but then it all went downhill toward the end of the week. Yet more snow fell on Saturday. Dreary and messy outside.

4. My son - things were a bit rough this week with Caleb, but we did make it through. Seems like each day is a struggle lately. So, a lot of my time is spent on keeping us moving forward. But, I'm thankful that I have the opportunity to help him. Not every parent gets this chance.

So, as you can see, it was a LONG week. So, here I sit on Sunday night with the hopes of a brand new week looming right in front of me. Can't wait to get it started!
