There were many wonderful gifts this past year - all involving my personal and professional growth along with the little moments with the people I love the most. But, I will highlight one very special gift - getting to know my niece, Faith, better. We have always spent a lot of time together - it was natural because we lived in the same town and my sister and I always help each other out with child care. But, I wouldn't say that Faith and I were always close outside of a normal niece and aunt relationship. This past year, I got to spend a lot of quality time with her. And, I found that we have a lot in common. We never lack for things to talk about and I believe we are both pretty open and honest with each other about how we are feeling. I feel so blessed to have gotten the chance to really get closer to her. I'm hoping that our relationship continues to grow as she goes off to college next year. You see, she doesn't know this yet, but I'm planning on visiting her all the time!!! I love her just like a daughter!
