Wednesday Wishes

This is a special edition of my weekly blog. I’m focusing all on my wishes surrounding the recent water in my basement. Enjoy!

1. I wish that there was a way to roll up your carpet easily so it didn’t get wet. I know, I could just tear it up and invest in throw rugs. I don’t want that, though, I want my carpet!
2. I wish I knew about this new water-in-your-basement alarm before this all happened – I might have woken up early enough to actually solve the problem before my carpet got all wet. Now, I haven’t bought one of these alarms yet, but I will be. In fact, I’ll probably buy 2 so I can put them in my hot spots.
3. I wish that the water in the basement issue didn’t happen in the middle of the night. Come on, don’t we all deserve a little rest?
4. I wish that I had the foresight to have many more children. Caleb was great help throughout the week, but it would have been better to have 10 of him running around working. Guess our forefathers had it right when they had all those kids!
5. I wish the old guy 2 houses to the north of my house would quit watering his lawn. Yep, even though the ground is soaked, he continues to water daily.
6. I wish I had a hotline that I could call to complain to the city about the old guy watering down the street. I’d turn his patootie in in a heartbeat! Forget that he periodically snow blows my driveway. I’m out for blood on this one!

Ok enough – I could go on and on for another week with this one. The one thing I am most thankful for is that I didn’t get any sewage in my basement. So, even though I have all of these wishes, I definitely have some thanks as well. Hope you all have a great Wednesday!
