I posted recently about this really neat blog that I started reading thanks to my friend, Brenda. Well, Brenda also loaned me a book written by the author of this blog. A Real Nice But by David Hingsburger
I have to tell you, this book has been eye opening for me. Yes, a lot of the content in the book relates directly to his experience with disabilities; however, he uses this to take the reader on a journey of self discovery. And, trust me, it isn't a self discovery that is sugar coated.
The first entry in the book really made me think about the life I have been living so far - and not in a very positive way. He challenges the reader to really stop and reflect on all those times in our lives that we could have made a difference, but chose instead to take the easy way out. You know what I'm talking about - those times when we have a decision to make and we decide to look the other way.
The book is easy to read and comprised of several articles that he authored throughout his life. Check it out if you have a chance! You'll truly get something out of it - that is if you are open to the self discovery :).
