Landscaping – Finally!

They finished my landscaping. I said “finally!” in the title not because they took so long, but because I took so long to get myself organized to hire someone. I love it. It isn’t fancy or complicated, which is exactly what I wanted. I do not have a green thumb, so I made sure to tell them that I didn’t want many plants & they had to be able to withstand long droughts.

cute little tiny plants :)

I love how clean the rock looks!

They worked around the tulips!  Of course, I always thought those tulips were really odd there.  Plus they are candy cane stripe - very odd tulips...

Close up of the bushes.  They promised me that these are NO maintanance.  Of course, they look really small and vulnerable right now.

These are supposed to be day lillies when if they grow up.

Now I just need to get some grass planted in the old rose garden spot. Notice I’m also including a picture of the grass seed & other white stuff that my dad gave me to put on it… I thought he would appreciate seeing the picture as I actually remembered to do all this before it rained. Dad says, “Good job, Kris!” (I like to give myself pats on the back like that periodically.)

Notice the very odd place that they planted rose bushes.  Of course, after the long summer of digging this all out, I realized that they covered up a tree stump with all that pseudo-landscaping.  Thanks to my dad, that tree stump is no more.  Oops, I guess it is still sitting by the side of the house...I have got to remember to set that out for the garbage man next time!

Close up of the grass seeds & that white stuff my dad told me to use.  I probably used waayy too much seed, but I wanted to be sure.  With my lack of green thumb, I figure only 1 out of 10 seeds will actually grow into grass, so I just increased my odds.

Now to the backyard…ufta!
