Some day I hope to grow up and marry a very rich man who will pay for someone else to do my grocery shopping. Oh, and do my laundry, cook my meals, pick up my dog's poop, wash the car...Ok, maybe I have big dreams for when I grow up!
I don't know what it is, but I have always hated grocery shopping. I've become addicted to couponing, so I thought maybe the thrill of the hunt for the good bargain would change my feelings about the food store. But, no, all it did was make me want to buy tons of stuff that is on sale so I can stockpile the good bargain - and I still have to go to the store to do shopping so I have the other stuff to actually make something! Ugghh!
I love lists. I love lists. I love lists. Ok, so now you know that awful truth, too. So, again, the question is, why doesn't that make me enjoy going to the store? I love making the shopping list and matching up my coupons and even looking up recipes to add specific items to my list so I can make them when I get home. The funny thing is that often that list, with all the gathered coupons and the list of the recipes to make, gets thrown in the recycling by the end of the week because I never actually made it the grocery store to use it!
So, here I sit on Sunday afternoon - enjoying the beautiful sun that finally came out of hiding! - and dreading the thought of taking my well thought out list and good coupons to the store to actually buy the food. Oh, well, I have until Tuesday to still take advantage of the deals. Guess I'll use up the eggs in the fridge, the bread that is going stale and the bacon that I got for a steal at Walgreens last week & just make french toast & bacon for supper tonight. That way I don't have to go to the grocery store and ruin my great Sunday! Yipee - what a glorious day!
