I forgot to publish this post after drafting it until today, but it was originally written on Monday.
It has been a very long time since I have posted. As some of you know, things have been pretty rough. I don’t want to get into the details in such a public way, so let me just say that there have been some significant concerns with Caleb and we are slowly moving out of a very dark stage in his life. He is getting the help that he needs and I continue to pray that every day continues to have a little more life to it. Thank you to everyone who has supported us along the way, especially in taking my frantic, tearful calls. We have a long road ahead of us, but I know that we can make just because of all of you.
So, I start this blog anew again. No looking into the past, only into the future.
We had a wonderful family vacation out in the hills about a week ago. I am so sad that it is over with, but I have wonderful memories to remember. I still laugh thinking about Logan standing at the bottom of the stairs yelling “CAALLEEBB!” over & over again. And, loved playing Killer Bunnies every night, even though I rarely got any bunnies! (by the way, if you haven’t played this game yet & you have a very odd sense of humor, you definitely need to check this one out! It is a must for our family.) And, I’ll always cherish my time in the Loganator Camp – downstairs with all the girls. We had a phenomenal adventure!
Work has been pretty slow – thank gosh. I have a big deadline toward the end of the month with our data reporting, so it has been nice to have that uninterrupted time to get a lot of that done. And, since I have been out so much with Caleb & then vacation, I found out that I missed out on a lot of drama. Yipee – that was really not something I needed in my life this month.
Now for the bad news – my AC unit has gone kaput! I can’t believe it waited until the hottest day of the year to do it, but I guess I had it coming. The unit was old when I moved in, so was time for an upgrade. Unfortunately I really don’t have the money for this right now. Someone from Waterbury is coming over tonight to talk to me about pricing and financing. Everyone cross their fingers that I qualify for the financing, or this will be a really rough summer.
Positives for today
1. Started blogging again – I like the opportunity to journal this way. Although, I find it interesting that I quit doing it at a time that it may have been the most beneficial. I suppose I didn’t want a public forum for our struggles – so I need to have a personal backup option for those times.
2. The tree stump is out! Thanks to Dad for all of his incredible hard work & the use of his tools. We spent a lot of time digging that baby out & it sure feels good to have that done. Poor guy didn’t get a very fun Father’s Day weekend though…
3. Coupons – I’m a mad couponer now & am completely addicted.
