Wednesday

What a crazy week! Boy, the Obama administration's stimulus funds are finally trickling down to our little old program & it is helping to increase my rates of funded proposals. We have rec'd news that 2 previous grant proposals that were originally not funded have now received funding. We had an urgent conference call with staff from the federal dept of health & human service yesterday because they pulled another one of our not funded grants off the shelves & it is now in consideration. And, we had an email yesterday on yet another not-funded proposal that is also being looked at again. That makes 4 proposals in the last 2 weeks - definitely a fast way to make money :). More great work news - the handbook that we have been working on for over 5 years is now officially published. We had the 2,000 books delivered to the office today. Bad news - delivery meant having to unload 3 pallets. Good news - the book looks incredible!!!

Caleb starts semester tests tomorrow. He has tests for algebra, biology & orchestra. Obviously, the algebra one is the most critical. I haven't looked at his grades since late last week & have decided not to. At this point, it's all up to him to pull it through, so I didn't want to put any more pressure on him. Friday, he has tests for the other 3 classes, but those should be a cake walk for him. His summer starts officially at 12:30 pm on Friday. Boy, I sure remember that feeling & even feel a bit jealous!

Positives for today
  1. handbook is done!! Cross that one off the list
  2. Caleb went to the dentist & no cavities
  3. tonight is the last night I have to stay up until 11pm when Caleb goes to bed. I'm old, I need to go to bed earlier. This little early evening treat will last until next fall :)!!
