Monday

My grant is submitted to the federal agency! Yipee – this is the best part about grantwriting. I’ve always told my boss that she needs to figure out how to have a balloon drop when I get one of these big ones done. Her response is always – balloons don’t get dropped unless we get the funding J. I really believe that grant writing is the least applauded job in the world. Seriously, when I emailed the project director that I had just finished a 100 page proposal that could possibly help him keep his job, he responded back “thanks”. That’s it – just “thanks”. No, “wow, don’t know how you got it all done” or “you are the best!” – just a “thanks”. Ok, just realized that last sentence was a bit snotty, so I’ll try to clean it up from here.

Cena ate 2 of Caleb’s packets for school this morning. That poor kid already has issues with getting his work done & then the dog eats it?? I felt so bad, but Caleb was very understanding. Of course, if Caleb would have just picked up his backpack like I had told him to, none of this would have happened. But, what’s a mom to do J. I offered Caleb to send an email to his teachers today to tell them it happened, but he declined the offer. Not sure if he was more embarrassed knowing that his mom was emailing his teachers or that he had a weird, paper-loving dog. Either way, he didn’t want me to intervene. Caleb has a huge Algebra test tomorrow, so everyone cross your fingers!

Positives for today
  1. Caleb's positive attitude about his test
  2. I went to the library today for some new books
  3. my new sweater - very comfy
