Clean as a whistle

My parents, my sister & my niece came over last week to help me with my garage. The intent was to clean it out so we could have some table set up in there for the graduation party.

The day started off with use moving everything from the garage out onto the driveway. Was kind of amusing to watch people slow down when they drove by. I’m sure they thought we were having a rummage sale. Thanks gosh for my sister who isn’t as squeamish as I am! She willingly pulled piles of stuff of the top of a row of cabinets. This pile of stuff was left by the previous owners and I never got around to cleaning it out. Ok, I was grossed out & didn’t want to touch it. Glad she did it & not me! She found old rags, socks & other pieces of fabric. What in the world was someone doing storing stuff like that on top of some cabinets in the garage?

After we got everything out, my dad used the steam cleaner to spray everything down. The day was slightly chilly, so it was kind of funny to see all of that steam rolling out my garage. Looked like we were either holding a rock concert or Cheech & Chong were over visiting. Either way, the poor guy had a difficult time seeing what he was doing. By the time the steam cleared, the garage looked so sparkling clean that we all had to put our sun glasses on. Ok, that might be a stretch. But, it sure did look nice.

The funny part was after all was said & done, we pretty much just threw everything back into the garage. This was my insisting, not anyone’s choice. To be honest, I was starving by then and just wanted to get done so we could get something to eat. You see, I have my priorities.

So, at the end of the day, I had a clean garage, a clean deck, clean driveway & sidewalks and clean siding around most of the house. Oh, and dad even got on a later & cleaned out one of my gutters that was full of muck.

I spent the next day just walking around marveling at all my the clean parts of my house. Oh, and putting stuff away in the garage! It looks absolutely amazing. I want to move my bedroom out there. Or, figure out a way to have dad use the steam cleaner to clean out my entire house. Very clean & sparkly & refreshing. Just like a tall glass of 7-up. Hee hee

I am so thankful to have family that is so willing to help out when they hear my frantic cry for help. It is amazing the amount of work we can get done when we all chip in to work on it together. Thanks, Family!! Now, just remember to talk off your shoes before you walk through my garage. Can’t have you getting it dirty next time you come to visit…
