Does anyone know how the expectation started that the work week would be Monday through Friday? I’m really curious about this. This decision has led to us all covet Friday. Did they think about that when they made that decision? I suppose the reasons why we know celebrate Fridays came from the days when Sunday was truly a day of rest. You needed Saturday off to get yourself ready for Sunday where you did nothing except church. You needed Saturday to warm up the water and fill up the big bucket so all 20 kids could take their bath for the week. I love Friday, but not for that reason. I love Friday because I know that there is a good chance I will get to be lazy on Saturday morning.
