Hi! My name is mom...And you are?

I've been preparing for this day for the past couple of years. As Caleb started working and spending more time with friends, there was less time that he was at home.  The past 6 months, I feel like I have to track his work schedule closer to ensure that I'm not just making a big meal for one.  Well, it finally happened.

I only saw my son on Thursday for 1 minute.

Yes, you heard me right, 1 minute.

(BTW - to help with my creativity in my blogging, I'm randomly putting pictures of him throughout. Yes, I know, he is 16 now!)

And I probably wouldn't have even seen him for that 1 minute if he didn't do something really funny.

First, let me explain why I didn't see him for longer than 1 minute on Thursday.  I went to work at 7am and because work has been very crazy this week, I didn't get home for lunch.  Then, I stayed until 6pm so I could get some of my budgets done.

Caleb slept in - no surprise there - so he didn't have breakfast with me at 6:30 am.  He also didn't feel the need to visit his mom throughout the day (which is a good decision!) and he had to work 6 pm - 12 pm.

No, I didn't stay up past midnight to greet my lovely son so I could see him.  He made sure I didn't have to do this because he....

Ok, get this because it is really funny....

He locked his keys in his car at work!!  ha ha - so funny!!  I got the call at 10:30 pm when he finally realized his keys were sitting on the seat in his car instead of in his pocket.

So, my one minute with him for Thursday was the drive by through the BK parking lot to hand him the extra set of keys.

Yes, if it wasn't such a prize piece of future hazing, I would have been sad that I only saw my son for 1 minute on a day when we were both in the same town.
