Technology Junkie

Lately, I have been checking out a lot of the latest technology options, especially when it comes to communication devices. Not sure why. I never had an interest in this stuff before. I remember when I got my first cell phone, I was frustrated that I had to buy one that had all the gizmos and whirlygigs. Why couldn’t I just get a phone that I can use to call someone? Now I completely covet smart phones.

When I started working at my new job, my first day here I was given a cell phone. The tech that introduced me to my phone’s options felt bad that she wasn’t giving me a smart phone. I understand now that my supervisor asked that I not be given one as he didn’t think it was appropriate that I would be that tied to my work. Hmmm…guess that was nice, right?

Well, when I sit in meetings now, with ALL MEN, I look around the room and they are all concentrating more on their phones than the meeting itself. Ok, these are smart men, so I suppose they could be multitasking. They seem to understand what is being said more than I do. I get jealous of their phones. How funny is that?

My current phone contract doesn’t end until next year. It would be ridiculous to pay full price to upgrade my phone. Right?
