Weekend Plans

Every week, I swear that I will do more of my weekly “chores” during the weeknights so I don’t have to spend my entire weekend doing them. Unfortunately, here I am again with my long list of chores to do. The following is what I plan on accomplishing this weekend outside the normal stuff (cleaning, doing laundry, etc.).
  1. Haircuts – everyone in my house needs a haircut include the dog. I invested in a “professional” style clipper set for me to use on Cena, so I plan on trying that out this weekend. He & Caleb both look like hot messes right now. I just need a trim J.
  2. Lawn mower – my backyard looks like a jungle. I’m getting a little nervous that I’ll even be able to use a regular lawn mower on it. I may need to hire a farmer to come in and windrow it to be baled. I know that I won’t be able to actually mow this weekend because of the rain, but I want to get down to Mom & Dad’s to pick up my lawnmower. I love having a dad that can tune up the lawn mower each year. Thanks, Dad!
  3. Menu planning – I’m bound and determined to figure out a system for planning our meals in a more structured way. I’m tired of eating out and using all my grocery money on convenience foods. I want to try to work on this a bit to get something started.
  4. Book Club Tool kit – I am on contract with my old employer to help develop a tool kit for anyone who wants to create their own book club for people with disabilities. I need to work on this, put together my invoice for my current time spent on it & send in, and set up a mtg with my collaborator for next week. I like going outside of my house to work on this as it forces me to focus on this activity. So, this might be an excuse for me to spend some time at Kaladi’s this weekend – woo hoo!
  5. Discover Together Class – I had to cancel our class this past week because of a looming deadline for our loan guarantee proposal for the project I am working on. So, I need to figure out what we are going to do this upcoming Tuesday and call everyone. It looks like all the meeting rooms are booked because of the mayor election in SF, so I’ll probably be hosting this at my house. This does allow me to be a bit more creative in our activities. Hmmm…wonder if I can figure out how to fit yard work into learning self-advocacy skills. Ha ha – just kidding!!
  6. Coupons – my organizational system for my coupons is just ridiculous. While I like it because it is easy when it comes time to making the lists, I find it very cumbersome when it comes time to actually organizing them. There are lots of great methods out there, so I just need to pick a new one and go with it. I know I won’t get this done this weekend, but I want to get started.
Wow – this is going to be yet another busy weekend. One good thing is that I don’t have to go grocery shopping this weekend – no money left in the budget!!
