My younger sister, Heather, posted a neat idea on her blog this week, so I thought I would copy her. Yes, she knows that I always wanted to be her anyway, so why not just copy everything she does?
What fun things did we do this month?
I hired a landscaper to finish the work in my front yard. I'm very stoked about this. We tried to do some of it ourselves last year, but it was a lot more work than I thought and the end result isn't as nice as I thought it would be. They are supposed to be coming sometime during the end of the month, so I'll make sure to post some pictures along the way.
I took my good friend, Derek, to church with me at Celebrate a couple of weekends ago. He keeps calling to see when we get to go again. Guess the church even brought him over cookies that very same day to welcome him! What a great memory!
What special celebrations happened this month?
St. Patrick's day was extra fun this month as my new work place (notice I never say the name in the blog as there are a lot of people at work that troll the internet tracking mentions of the company :)!). They catered lunch for us and we played several rounds of speed bingo to win prizes. Very nice to work for a company now that actually spends money on its employees.
First day of spring has been a heavenly change for me. I think I might have that syndrome that makes you tired/depressed when you don't get sun. Funny, though, I don't like being outdoors much, so not sure if that was the reason I was so tired this winter!
What fun projects was I working on this month?
Well, I actually started blogging again! I know...finally! This has been a lot of fun for me. I always forget how much fun I have with writing until I start doing it. I also started
journaling again in this really neat journal that my sister gave me last year for my unbirthday.
I started trying out some freezer meal recipes this month. While I haven't done very many of these yet, I was happy with the ones I did make. I'll post some recipes in the near future.
Finalized my budget spreadsheets. With starting a new job, I now get paid twice a month instead of once a month. It made me a little nervous when it came to my budgeting, so I wanted to make sure to get everything into a nice, neat spreadsheet. I used it this weekend in paying my bills, balancing my checkbook, and it worked well.
Goals for next month:
- Organize my 2009 paperwork. Yes, since January, this paperwork has been stacked on the bed in my extra bedroom. So sad...and thank gosh mom hasn't come up to spend the night lately.
- Work on my quilt! It is cut out, but I have not started sewing yet.
- Organize my craft/office room. This is a new room for me. Caleb recently moved his bedroom downstairs, so I have an entire new room to put together. I'm excited about the possibilities.
- Put away the rest of Christmas decorations - yes, again, very embarrassing!
Loving the flower bullet points:)
