Blue Skies

The big, bad shark is gone.

Waters are calm and everyone is happy.

Things went so well with Caleb today.  I keep telling him that we need to take things one day at a time.  And, I need to remember that for myself and celebrate the good times.  So, I wanted to share that with all of you as well.  It was like the sun had just come out today after a couple of weeks of downpour.  He did everything he said he would and also went above & beyond his normal responsibilities.  Plus, I had a great conversation with the school counselor.  And, I found out that even if he can pass just one class this semester, he will still be considered a senior at the start of next year.  So, he isn't behind like we thought.  Thankfully, I think that all made him feel better, too - less overwhelmed.

Raising a teenager can be very painful at times, but also some of the highest moments one has ever experienced.  It is so easy to forget that they are trying their hardest to break free and be their own person.  While there are days when I am ready to throw in the towel at a moment's notice, I wouldn't trade my life with my son for anything!
