Tuesday

Well, the snow finally hit this afternoon. Unfortunately, that meant that I had to cancel book club/life skills class. I think the crew as disappointed, but they all understood. I have to drive everyone home after 9pm in this state van & that thing is like driving a huge sled. So, I definitely wanted to keep everyone safe. So, I had a night off that I hadn't planned for, which was very exciting.

I called Sylvan Learning Center today about hiring a tutor for Caleb. The person I needed to talk to wasn't in, so hopefully I get to talk to them tomorrow. I'm not sure that Caleb was all that comfortable with the thought of having a tutor help him. Honestly, I think the entire thing scares him a bit. I'm not sure that he is all that honest with himself about struggling with that class. Because of our discussion last night, I had him go on the computer tonight to identify 3 colleges that he wants to go to. Then, later this week, we are going to look at their websites together to find out what their admitting GPA requirements are. I think this will be eye opening for him. He picked ECPI, Strayer & Kaplan. I have never heard of any of these, so it will be interesting when we start looking at them closer :). Knowing Caleb, I'm sure they are probably all in New York - he has a fascination about that state...

My positives for today:
  1. my cozy bed, especially when my furry puppy is curled up on my feet keeping them warm
  2. unexpected night off
  3. slowly falling snow

Healthy Living Update Ok, I knew my 6 minute walk was a bit lame yesterday, so I actually broke out the gazelle tonight. I haven't been on that thing since before we moved in this house, so you can imagine the layers upon layers of dust I had to clean off before climbing on. But, I did a full 20 minutes & am very proud of myself for that. And, once again, my eating was horrible today. I'm eating more fruits & veggies, so that is positive, but I'm still not eating all the stuff I should be. I'm thinking about joining weight watchers.
