My favorite Spanish saying

I think I took 2 full years of Spanish in high school. Then, I know I took 2 full years in college (plus a semester of French and a semester of German). But, I struggle with speaking Spanish to even my 3 year old nephew who has limited knowledge himself! For some reasons, I’ve always remembered one particular phrase all these years. Not sure why, either. It isn’t a phrase I could use very often. In fact, I don’t believe I will ever be able to use this phrase to a first generation Spanish speaker without risking complete ridicule. Unfortunately, my niece also has some extensive Spanish and she has pointed out to me that I don’t even have my verb conjugated correctly in the phrase. Maybe I remember it so well because of that. I imagine my high school Spanish teacher making me say it over and over again hoping I would correct the conjugation!
¡Vamos a la playa!
Translation: Let’s go to the beach!
