Day 24: Everything's Ok

December 24 Prompt – Everything’s OK What was the best moment that could serve as proof that everything is going to be alright? And how will you incorporate that discovery into the year ahead? (Author: Kate Inglis)

This moment just happened over the holidays. I always have a freak out moment over the holidays. Ok, I actually probably have several. This year, it happened late at night as I was trying to get my kitchen cleaned for the next morning and to make the stuff to be put into the crockpot for breakfast. Everyone else was doing what they wanted and I was feeling a lot of resentment that I was doing the work while they were enjoying themselves. I didn't say anything. Until my poor sister told me to come sit down - then I just started crying. Instead of staying in the moment, I just left and went to bed.

Here's how I learned to remember that everything is going to be ok. My family was there to remind me first that I should take more time to enjoy myself. They also showed me that when I couldn't do it, they would pick up the pieces. Granted, all they did was put the stuff in the crockpot, but they did it without me being there to instruct them.

When I can't be strong, they will be there to be strong for me. I love my family!
