Saving Money, Losing Time

I enjoy couponing for the very fact that it allows me to search out the best deals ever. Consider it a form of hunting - just hunting for a deal, not a deer :). The only thing that bugs me about couponing is the amount of time it takes for me to organize my deals. Last night, I took almost a full hour to pull together my coupons and deals for Target and Walgreens. So, was that worth the time? It all depends. If I don't ever make it to either store to use those coupons, then it isn't worth the time. If the stores don't have those good deals in stock, then it isn't worth the time. If my combined savings don't add up to as much money as I typically make an hour at my job, then it isn't worth the time. This is where I struggle the most with my couponing passion. Is my love for hunting out the best deals worth the time it takes? Not sure of the answer on that one.

  1. I find that I "coupon" in spurts. Basically only when I feel like it. I go a couple of weeks cutting and sorting, and then a few weeks of not. It gets a little irritating when I get "worked up" because I missed a great deal, but I LOVE bragging at work when the lunch I brought only cost 25 cents!
