Monday

We had a wonderful 4th of July, even though we had to celebrate it the day before. Some of my cousins & their families were doing a "family trip" through their old stomping grounds, so we met all of them, along with my uncle, at the Alcester Steakhouse. That was a great meal & even better company. Too bad I didn't get to sit next to my cousins to hear all that was being said, but Mom & Kelly brought me up to speed when driving home. Sounds like they all have great things going on in their lives, but I sure wished we all lived closer to one another. We lit off some fireworks back at Mom & Dad's that night. No, it wasn't as exciting as blowing up the toilet last year :), but we still enjoyed it. It would have been even better if it was freezing & raining!

Caleb had to work on Saturday, so we came home that morning. He ended up spending time later in the day with his new friend, Zach, & his family. They invited him to come with & light off fireworks. Caleb had fun & made it home way before his 10:30pm curfew. Caleb hung out with Zach & his other friend (sorry, forgot the poor kid's name!) on Sunday.

I've been busy planning out my trips to Kmart to take advantage of their double coupons this week. I'm way too addicted to this :). I promise that I will not buy another thing of deodorant for a long time! But, it sure is hard to resist free deodorant - might have to start stockpiling to give away.

Life has been good this past week. We only had a couple minor incidents with Caleb, but nothing out of the ordinary for a teenager. Sure feels good to get some rest. The emotions have really, really wore me out. And, I love that I'm now looking forward to celebrating his 16th birthday at the end of the month. There for awhile, I was so afraid we weren't going to make it to that landmark day. It will be very sweet to spend that day with my wonderful son!!

Positives:

1. Twilight books - or should I say, darn those stupid Twilight books!! I'm totally addicted & I truly am annoyed by the main character. How can that be???????
2. flowers - yep, I have some blooming. The ones Caleb weed whacked are growing again, but not sure if they will make it to bloom this year.
3. chocolate granola - hmm...not sure how healthy, but boy it sure tastes yummy.
