Saturday

I have been pretty busy every night this week just catching up on stuff around the house, so haven't had time to post. Here is a quick update of some of the events since Tuesday.

Wednesday - Caleb and I signed up to participate in a research study. A group of researchers from NM were in town conducting some neuropsych testing on some of our patients from our FASD clinic. They needed some control subjects to fill slots, so Caleb was willing to step in. Of course, he made $70, so that was all it took for him to do it! It was pretty boring - I had 2 hours of surveys & interviews and Caleb had 4 1/2 hours of testing. It will be neat to see what the report says when we get it. Maybe it will give me some insights into Caleb's issues with school :).

Thursday - I had a real hard time getting motivated to do much of anything this day. For the life of me, I really have no clue what I even did :).

Friday - Our dietetic interns graduated today. Always exciting to see another class move on in their lives. I proctored their final exam & then we had a small reception later in the afternoon to help them celebrate. It was neat to see how many of them had a number of family members who attended.

Saturday - Today, I was on the move nonstop it seemed. Started off the day by doing some cleaning around the house. Made a huge fruit salad to munch on the whole day (keeping with my diet!). Mowed the lawn & did some other smaller tasks outside. Made my weekly trip to walmart & bought a few flowers to put outside. Did laundry. Paid bills & figured out my checkbook. Glad to get a lot of the weekend chores done today so I can hopefully enjoy some of the weekend.

Also took Cena to the vet today as he has some type of a skin condition & has been very itchy. The doctor diagnosed it as some type of dermatitis - they have a specific name that I can't remember :). It cost way more money than I can afford! But, hopefully it will help him. He has to take an antibiotic for a couple of weeks and gets to have 2-3 baths a week with this special soap. This dog will be the cleanest dog in town - so clean, you could eat supper off him - ha ha.

Positives for today
  1. Caleb moved all of the edging from the front rose garden I am in the process of digging up. This was wonderful!
  2. More of my bulbs are coming up!
  3. Kashi chocolate granola - yes, has carbs, but even the little I allow myself on my yogurt in the morning really helps me start the day off right!
